Tim Moraghan (T: @TimMoraghan, F: @timothy.moraghan) is the owner of Aspire-Golf a company that specializes in golf course and turf management, long range planning, professional development, and tournament consulting. You may know him better from his 21 years spent as the Chief Agronomist of the USGA (United States Golf Association) where he was instrumental in preparing and running all 14 of the USGA’s major championships, including their marquee event, the US Open. We discuss what that was like, rubbing shoulders with some of the best players in the game and what he’s learned from them. Part of today’s show also revolves around technology, from an agronomy standpoint and its effects on the game. So many people are familiar with how equipment has affected the game but not many are aware of how changes in grasses, developments in machinery; i.e. mowers, GPS watering and other advancements have affected the game. In a lifetime in and around golf he has seen it all and is kind enough to share some of what he’s learned.
If you want to reach out to Tim for a consult, schedule him as a speaker, or talk golf you can reach him via his website: aspire-golf.com, email at [email protected] or phone 908-635-7978.
